24 Hour Emergency Service

Locally owned and operated

Wayne was introduced to the Mechanical trade at a very young age by his father, Martin, who was a very established and devoted service technician and business owner in the Regina area. “My father always put his clients’ best interests at the top of his agenda.” Wayne learned many important traits from his father – treat people how you want to be treated and with respect and most of all, be fair and honest. The family history in the trades did not stop at Martin. Wayne’s grandfather, George Thomson was a Refrigeration Mechanic. “Both my father and grandfather influenced me to become a tradesman. They trained me to be proud of each job or project I was a part of.” Wayne has made sure that the staff at Neighbours Mechanical are always proud of what they have accomplished.

While working for his father, Wayne learned a lot about the field and what it meant to run a business. When his parents sold the business and the trades slowed down in the late 1980’s, Wayne took a position at a major Regina hotel in 1990. He had made such a good impression on his previous clients that he continued to receive service requests at home and would go on calls in the evenings and weekends to help everyone he could. He began to get so busy by 1992 that he was unable to work full time at the hotel and service customers in the evening. He decided at that time to make Neighbours Mechanical his career path. “I will never forget the conversation I had with the hotel owner. He helped me make the life changing decision and I thank him greatly for that.”

Neighbours Mechanical has been family owned and operated since start up in 1992. Wayne operated the business alone for the first 10 years. Neighbours Mechanical now employs 11 service technicians and 3 office personnel along with himself and he is always eager to add more to the team.
